Our Lower Primary English programmes are designed in alignment with the MOE English Language Syllabus, focusing on nurturing confident communicators and enthusiastic readers. We bridge the gap between early literacy and academic fluency by providing a supportive environment where students engage with language through purposeful play, literature, and collaborative tasks.
Key Areas of Focus
- Composition Writing: Develop creativity and expressive skills through a variety of structured and imaginative writing activities. Learn to organise ideas effectively and write engaging stories with clear structure.
- Comprehension (Open-ended): Strengthen critical thinking and analytical skills by answering various open-ended comprehension questions.
- Grammar and Sentence Construction: Master essential grammar rules and learn to construct clear, well-structured sentences for both written and spoken English.
- Vocabulary Usage: Expand vocabulary through engaging stories and texts based on everyday experiences. Emphasis is placed on understanding word meanings and effective usage in different contexts.
- Oral Communication: Develop confidence, fluency and clarity in spoken English through interactive activities such as Show-and-Tell. Students practise presenting ideas, responding to questions and engaging in conversations.

Upper Primary English
Our Upper Primary English programmes shift their focus from foundational literacy to the development of more sophisticated reading and writing skills. This includes comprehension, composition writing, and critical analysis of complex texts, while also emphasising accurate grammar and vocabulary usage. All these elements are aimed at preparing students thoroughly for the PSLE examination.
Key Areas of Focus
- Composition Writing: Learn to organise stories using structured frameworks and apply advanced descriptive writing techniques to create compelling narratives.
- Situational Writing (P5/P6): Learn to write functional texts such as emails, letters, reports or articles based on a given scenario.
- Comprehension Cloze: Use contextual clues and other strategies to tackle cloze passages confidently.
- Vocabulary Usage: Expand and refine English vocabulary to improve effectiveness in communication.
- Oral Communication: Read aloud fluently and speak cohesively for stimulus-based conversations.
- PSLE Preparation: Receive targeted guidance and practice to address areas of weakness, ensuring thorough preparation for the PSLE English examination.
